Another Post...Because I Rule

I have come to the conclusion that Peanut is anti-blog. I recently realized that my bedroom is my favorite room in my apartment. It's comfy, usually pretty clean, and probably the best decorated. So I decided I'd come to and lay on my bed with my laptop and type up what I've been up to the last few weeks. You know, before I go blind and all. Peanut perches herself on top of my stomach as I'm tying to type. I'm nowhere near a typing star, so having a chihuahua divider between my face and the screen is very detrimental to my ability to key anything but gibberish. She grew bored of my still attempting to type around her, and she began slobbering on my hands and trying to weasel her head underneath them. See, the bed is really Peanut's, not mine, so I should have known that she's the one that decides what I can and can't do here. Now I know: petting her is okay; blogging is not. I'm now hunched over and sitting Indian-style so she has to sit in a less intrusive spot. She's just sighs loudly.

It really doesn't feel like it's been three weeks since I last wrote anything of substance, but the calendar doesn't lie (unlike that darn scale, but that's a whole different story). Since I've last written, I've attended two marvelous birthday celebrations. Two weekends ago we had a party for my boyfriend Mike and his twin brother Brian's birthdays. We grabbed some food at the very loud and moderately tasty Buffalo Wild Wings, then proceeded to Brian's house to play ping pong, darts, pool, dominoes, and whatever else we could find. I was so exhausted from being an old woman that I retreated to the sofa upstairs around 1 AM. After all, what good is a groggy DD? Last weekend was my good friend Katie's birthday extravaganza. Katie's was much more animated with a dinner at Safe House and the VIP section at a nearby bar to follow. Once again I think I only managed to stay awake until about 1 AM. I'm noticing a pattern here...

Last week was pretty busy medically too. I had a dentist appointment on Monday, so I'm newly obsessed with brushing and flossing. What is it about the dentist's office that makes you feel guilty about not brushing enough even when you're brushing every morning and night? I don't even think that it's anything the dentist or nurses do either. Maybe it's that dentist light that stares at you so judgmentally when you're sitting in the exam chair. Thoughts?

Wednesday I had my first pre-op appointment for my pending eye surgery. They dripped a bunch of multi-colored drops in my eyes, flashed bright lights, and took a bunch of weird looking photos, then told me my eyes looked very healthy and normal. I suppose that's good even though I left with oversized pupils and technicolor tears. The nurse had to show me a video about the potential complications that could be associated with my implant surgery, which of course was awesome. Ray Charles, here I come! Aside from those events I'm staying pretty positive. My surgery is scarily close, though: yeep!

Alpine Valley officially closed for the season on Sunday, so that means I'm don with Ski Patrol for a while. Hopefully by the time it stars up again I have my schedule evened out into something more workable. Time will tell.

My ankle has fallen asleep, and Peanut has decided to start licking it. (Weirdo.) I think that's my cue to wrap this up. I should point out also that I add any of the links you see within these posts, so they're not the randomly assigned pop-up ads that you see in some news articles. I realized I've probably gained a good number of readers since I last explained that, so hopefully they bring you some entertainment. Some linked sites have content related to the linked word, but most are just supposed to be entertaining,

Happy clicking,
