The Past Few Days...

FRIDAY:

So Friday I had to work at the Phish Concert at Alpine Valley. Well I shouldn't say "had to," more like "got to." Emily and I met her friend from college who was also working there this season. She didn't know where she was going, so even though we had to be there a 1/2 hour earlier than she did, she followed us anyway. Turned out to be a good thing. I found out I was managing the stand her friend Jamie was assigned to. She's an awesome girl, too. I'm glad we got along. Even though I was apparently supposed to have some more people in my stand, I didn't, so she and I worked the Import Station alone.

While I was there I saw Dave Freisleben and Maggie. Wristbanded them up and sent them on their merry way woth their 1st beer of the night. Dave can tell you the rest from there, that's his story. Getting to hear the concert for free was cool too. I also met some weird guy in a super-hero getup, complete with yellow sequined cape and green eye glitter. And Emily's area supervisor, AJ, ran into me and asked if I went to Ripon. He said he'd seen me around, but that I probably didn't know him cuz he was studying abroad in Tanzania last semester. Small world, ay?

We were told to stop selling around 10:00 ish maybe. I didn't get out of the theater grounds until 2 AM! After I got all of the money together and had that confirmed, Jamie and Emily did inventory to the best of their ability and brought that back to the office. We started out being over $2,000 short. shit. THEN we were about $600 over. After more figuring, we went and talked to our boss, and she said we were $441 short. She sent us back over to the Import Cooler to see what was left and subtract that from what was supposedly delivered (the beauties of the 1st show). We got it to be around $150 short, 21 and some fraction of a bottle's worth. At this point we just wanted to go home, but Lisa (our boss) declined our offer to go to discount liquor and pick up a case of Carona. She said we'd deal with it tomorrow. Good thing I wasn't there. muahhahahaha

SATURDAY:

I went to Summerfest with Anneli and Aaron on Saturday night. We saw O.A.R. Good times, but packed. Anneli's friend, Jenny, got bitch-slapped. We didn't actually get to SEE anything, but hearing them live was sweet. Next time my goal is to see AND hear them in concert...

On our way out we saw Jenny and I saw Anneli's friend Baker. Baker just got a tattoo, and rather than try to describe it to us, she decided it'd be more fun to show us. So she starts taking her shirt off so we can see. People are staring. Interesting situation, but funny.

SUNDAY:
When Anneli and I got back to my house after Summerfest, she asked me if I'd come up and visit her in Appleton since I didn't have to work until Monday. Of course I agreed, so we washed our dirty feet from the night before (damn sandals at Summerfest), I packed some clothes, and we were on our way. It was fun to hang out with her friends. They're weird, but in that entertaining way, not the creepy way.

I was going through my phonebook, and there's a Rob in there whose # I entered a LONG time ago. I don't know who that is. I don't know anyone named Rob. Well I know my dad, but he's a Bob, not a Rob. and his last name isn't Alexander. Wait I just figured out who he is. Negative points for Emily saying she didn't know who he was: it's her friend. haha

MONDAY:
That brings us to today. I went to work for all of 2.27 hours and made $2 in tips. Watch out world! We really don't need an opening bartender on a Monday, but I got a 1/2-priced meal out of the deal. Then I went to the karate school and did some nothing work there. On the drive home Emily calls me and asks if I'm doing cool tonight. If you have any doubt about the answer to that question, just refer to my last post. Since she, Elise, and I were all bored, we decided to get together at my secluded house in the woods late at night to watch movies.

First up: Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Fair warning, don't watch horror movies that take place in some dark woods in the middle of nowhere when ur surroundings are the same. Many apologies to my parents if we woke them up screaming. And why are girls in horror movies always so freakin' DUMB?

Emily and Elise, feeling unable to leave the safety of my home opted that we watch another movie. Disney should be a good bet. No scariness there right? Absence of violence and death? Guess again. We settled on The Italian Job cuz it didn't involve gruesome death my chainsaw. Okay, so we refined our standards.

Now I'm tired and I'm going to bed.

* Disclaimer: This was long and stream-of-consciousness, so there was no spell-checking involved. Deal.
